History

The company SALMEN was first established 1923 by Anton Salmen (electrical engineer). It produced castings of brass, steel bowls and household appliances.

After the Second World War, the METAL FACTURY SALMEN then specialized in the production of steel bowls and pressure cylinders. Amongst others, SALMEN with its 500 employees was a key supplier of Borgward.

In 1967, the company was relaunched as GESA Salmen GmbH by the sons Hubert and Paul Salmen and thereafter specialized in fire fighting devices. The company produced mainly pressure cylinders and gained a leading position in this market. In 1991 annual production reached 1 million cylinders.

Following the economic crisis in 2009, Alexander Salmen newly founded and restructured the company in its third generation. SALMEN components now produces metal components drawing on the vast experience and know-how of the company's history.
